Brody's nightmares are starting to come back. It makes sense, with the anniversary of everything coming up. And Whitney mentioned that it was a high probability.

He doesn't remember it, this morning. But he definitely looks like he had a bad night.

I wish I could do something for him.

Brody had a rough night.

Since he's been back, he's been working on a backlog of mineral samples from stalled Starfleet projects and it turned out that one of the crates had samples of rock similar to the mine he was in.

Eric took quick action and knocked B out before he could hurt anyone. He'll feel like hell once he wakes up, I'm sure.

So much for Kurt's progress.....

[she looks much better than the previous recording]

Okay. So. [she nods] Definitely pregnant. [she makes a face of resentment at him, but there's a hint of a smile; similar to a parent who wants to convey anger but is trying not to admit pride] I still don't know anything, but I have to tell Sam something. So, I'm going to sit him down, with Shawn, so I only have to say it once. [she takes a breath]

I hope you're okay. [she offers a sad smile] Love you.

[recording ends]

[it's dark, and she looks like she's been hit by a truck ; there's a long pause while she stares at something behind the monitor, then she lets out a breath]

I don't even know what to say, right now. I don't know what to feel. I just- [she glances down and swallows, then looks at the monitor again ; a thousand emotions are fighting to get out, but she's somehow holding it together] It's like waking up from the most vivid bad dream to find out I wasn't actually asleep. I don't know what's going on. I don't know where you are. But I know you're alive. [she shrugs] I just do. [she takes a breath] You have to be. Because you got me pregnant, you ass. And, if you were here, right now, you'd be grinning brighter than the damn sun. [she starts to smile but it immediately shifts and her breath hitches] So, you better turn up.

[the recording ends just as she loses control over the emotions]

Samuel is gone. He was fishing with the Klingon delegation and.. Well, the Klingon medic said that he went quick, and there was no pain. I'm glad for that, at least. But I'm sad that he didn't get one more visit with Sammy. Timing, of course. And, being that he was deep in Klingon territory meant we couldn't just pop in for tea.

Two containers are coming to us, by way of the Neutral Zone and Kahless knows how long in quarantine. They're going to give him a hero's funeral, since it's been his home for so long. I understood the request, and couldn't very well demand otherwise. Sammy was the only family he had left, and he was happy where he was. And they all love him, wherever he was, so it only makes sense.

Starfleet seems to be proud of his service, as well, because they're going to have a service for him. But clearly not proud enough to get his stuff to us, sooner.

Talk about honoring your loyal ambassadors...
