Samuel is gone. He was fishing with the Klingon delegation and.. Well, the Klingon medic said that he went quick, and there was no pain. I'm glad for that, at least. But I'm sad that he didn't get one more visit with Sammy. Timing, of course. And, being that he was deep in Klingon territory meant we couldn't just pop in for tea.
Two containers are coming to us, by way of the Neutral Zone and Kahless knows how long in quarantine. They're going to give him a hero's funeral, since it's been his home for so long. I understood the request, and couldn't very well demand otherwise. Sammy was the only family he had left, and he was happy where he was. And they all love him, wherever he was, so it only makes sense.
Starfleet seems to be proud of his service, as well, because they're going to have a service for him. But clearly not proud enough to get his stuff to us, sooner.
Talk about honoring your loyal ambassadors...
