Liv and I went on a double date, yesterday, with our favorite guys. We stayed in and they made us dinner - best spaghetti I've had this side of San Francisco!

Still not sure where they found the stove, but it wasn't in the front room this morning.

Spent the better part of yesterday on the Holodeck, having a family outing for Brody's birthday.

We went to the beach and the boys did some fishing, while Liv and I built a sandcastle. After that, we met up with the Fowlers and went to a baseball game.

It was a really good day.

Officially. The extra week of leave wasn't planned, of course, but I'm definitely glad I had it.

Also, my thanks to my entire team, because they somehow managed to keep me out of most of the ship operations without me even realizing it. I put a commendation in each of their files, because they earned it. And I can.

It'll be a sad day, for me, when Lt Remley gets his own ship. But it'll damn sure be the second-best run vessel in the fleet.

Turns out the easiest way to get her to sleep is to take her to Engineering.

I was joking, the other day, about the Warp Core putting her to sleep. Damn thing actually works.

Thankfully, I've been able to catch her before she wakes Sammy up. We need him to be pleasant for Mister Hunter and his classmates, every day!

But, back to Engineering... I may just stick her under my desk, every morning, so I can get back to work.

Still have a few weeks before I'm allowed to start working out. Not sure why going at the punching bag would put me at risk, but DOCTOR'S ORDERS.

Less than a day in and I can safely say she got her daddy's eyes and her mama's temper.

I wish I could say I remembered any of it, but I honestly don't. I'm kind of glad I missed it, because from what I've heard, it was all rather dramatic.

My thanks to the medical staff, of course. And, for all the stink I raised about my tracker, it appears the thing actually did me a favor.

Poor Dr Hartwig doesn't realize he's going to be getting a lot of calls in the future, to sing me to sleep.

The kid's on her own!

Aunt Marty already sent Uncle Paul and Uncle Shawn to separate corners for fighting over her. ((I think she just wanted to have a turn and pulled rank))

I'm enjoying it, though... Gives me a chance to snuggle with Sammy without either of us getting kicked, for once!

Based entirely on the way he takes care of me, it's clear Olivia will have the very best big brother in all of the known galaxy.

My thanks to Marty and Kurt. Also to the entire Engineering team.

Turns out I really did need a day off. I just didn't see it.

Paulie came in during dinner and we got to have a chat about Sammy's MOP. So, Sammy has a date, tonight, for a haircut.

I think I'm going to get a haircut, too. One less thing to worry about, these days.

Can't put my finger on who... but someone.

Pancakes before school! Pancakes for dinner. Hope Oliver likes pancakes!

The unnamed parasite - as dubbed by Aunt MC - is now known as OLIVER.

Brody's favorite grandpa was Grandpa Ollie, who took him fishing and taught him how to play the guitar. Sammy loves being named after his Great-Grandpa Sam -- we got the chance to visit with one of the Klingon ambassadors when we picked up Sam's things and they were quite honored to meet Sammy -- and decided that his brother or sister should have the same honor.

Yes, I know we don't know, yet, but Sammy makes the rules.

So, from now on.. please refer to my belly as Oliver. But, y'know, still look me in the eyes. Because directing conversation to my stomach is still just weird.

Also, I forgot how nice solid ground is. Real food. Real sun. Real fresh air. It was a good leave.

Sammy had a rough night. We both did, really.

But we're better today.

[she looks much better than the previous recording]

Okay. So. [she nods] Definitely pregnant. [she makes a face of resentment at him, but there's a hint of a smile; similar to a parent who wants to convey anger but is trying not to admit pride] I still don't know anything, but I have to tell Sam something. So, I'm going to sit him down, with Shawn, so I only have to say it once. [she takes a breath]

I hope you're okay. [she offers a sad smile] Love you.

[recording ends]

Sammy had a nightmare, so I spent most of the night awake, in case he woke up again. I spilled my tea on myself, on the way to Engineering. While trying to bypass the rolling power loss in the biology lab, a filament exploded on us, with no warning.

And I keep feeling like the room is spinning. All I can figure is whatever was leaking out of the filament is to blame. For all of it.

I'm going to swing by Sickbay on the way to the staff meeting.
